Email: [email protected] Bio: Don Johnson is the adjunct professor of trumpet at Central State University and is a freelance musician in the Cincinnati area. He has performed and recorded with numerous ensembles across the US including the Acadiana Symphony, the Dallas Winds, the Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band, the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, the New Life Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of New Spain, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Tempeste di Mare, the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Johnson has performed on the following recordings: The Gettysburg Address (Original Soundtrack Album), Music for Trumpet, Strings and Organ from before 1700, and the CD series Teaching Music Through Performance in Band. Dr. Johnson received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in trumpet performance at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where he was a graduate assistant for the Department of Wind Studies. He received his Bachelor’s of Music Performance at the University of Louisville and completed his Master’s in Music at Louisiana State University. |
